Anonymous asked: Tom, I've realized the biggest problem with double shipping. After it stops, it feels like the books are dragging. Become so accustomed to reading 2 issues a month that going back to one makes it seem like barely anything is happening.

I think that’s absolutely true. I definitely noticed that being expressed when AVENGERS slowed down to only coming out once a month after INFINITY.

It’s the classic double-edged sword. We’re in a world now that likes to binge-consume content, so that means that we can effectively market and sell titles that come out more often than 12 times a year. But there are limits to how much we can produce without simply throwing random bodies at a series and stripping it of all identity and direction, and a limit, at least at the moment, for how many titles we can release on a very aggressive schedule as a result.

So these are all issues that we’re grappling with and attempting to find a way to manage as we move forward. But we’re definitely at the point where nobody blinks at a book that ships more than 12 issues a year, whereas at the outset there was some outcry about it.
